RRDB in Rosneft Olympics: participate and win!

Krasnodar, 7 June. The sports team of the Russian Regional Development Bank has honorably defended its “corporate colors” in the VI Rosneft Olympics. The competitions took place as part of the first zone tour held from 2nd to 6th June in the arena of Krasnodar stadium “Trud” and were organized by one of Rosneft largest subsidiaries, the company Kubannefteprodukt.

The representative tournament brought together teams from nine companies of the Oil Company Rosneft: OOO RN-Drasnodarneftgaz, OAO Grozneftgaz, OAO Oil Company Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt, OOO Oil Company RosneftNTTs, OAO Oil Company Rosneft-Stavropol, OAO RRDB, OAO Oil Company Rosneft-Karachaevo-Cherkessknefteprodukt, ZAO Lipetsknefteprodukt and OOO RN-Yuganskneftegaz. The participants in Rosneft Olympics competed in games of mini-football, basketball, table tennis, and chess, weight-lifting and relay racing, and pulled the rope with unrivalled passion.

RRDB team of chess players along with its leader, Olga Ozerova, performed at grandmaster level and at the end of the competition was among the most successful teams in the games. The women’s group even ended up at the second place. The Bank’s athletes achieved excellent results in the 3 х 100 meters relay, ending second in their group and sixth overall. RRDB athletes also did well in table tennis and football. An unofficial audience award went to RRDB women’s volleyball team, which took part in several friendly matches against the strongest men’s team of the Olympics. Overall, the Bank’s athletes ended up in the 8th place of the tournament.

Zone tours of Rosneft VI Olympics were also held in five Russian cities (Khabarovsk, Angarsk, Izhevsk, Samara and Tuapse. The three best teams selected will compete in the Olympics final in Moscow in late August.
